Piraña

Piraña is a river rapids ride at Efteling where round boats navigate through fast-moving water with waterfalls and spray features along the way. The boats travel through more than 500 meters of water channels at significant speeds.

This ride opened in 1983 as Europe's first river rapids attraction, introducing thrilling modern rides to a park previously focused on fairy-tale themes. This opening shifted how the park developed going forward.

The ride features South American-inspired design with warrior statues and banners reflecting pre-Columbian cultures visible as you board and travel through. These details shape how visitors experience the journey.

Children under 1.20 meters need someone aged 16 or older to accompany them, and very small children must sit on an adult's lap. Expect to get wet and wear suitable clothing or bring a change of clothes.

Four powerful pumps circulate enormous amounts of water per hour through the course, creating dynamic water movement throughout the ride. This system allows boats to overtake each other during the journey, making each trip feel different.
