Fata Morgana, Dark water ride in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands
Passengers float through scenes depicting an Arabian city, encountering 140 automatons while traveling along a water channel inside an oriental building.
The attraction, designed by Ton van de Ven and Jan Verhoeven, opened its doors at Efteling theme park on March 27, 1986.
The ride references tales from Arabian Nights, guiding visitors through locations such as markets, harbors, palaces, and treasure chambers of the Middle East.
Children under 120 centimeters in height need an accompanying person of at least 16 years old to experience this eight-minute water journey.
The mechanical figures operate through a patented system of wooden discs that control cables attached to different joints of each character.
