The House of the Five Senses, Park entrance at Efteling, Netherlands
The House of the Five Senses features five distinct peaks on its roof and stands 52 meters high with Indonesian-inspired architectural elements.
Construction began in October 1995, but a general strike in the building sector delayed its official opening until 1996.
The building incorporates the traditional Rumah Gadang architectural style from the Minangkabau people of Indonesia into its modern design.
The entrance building contains customer service facilities, souvenir shops, and restrooms for visitors arriving at the theme park.
The Guinness Book of Records recognizes this structure for having the largest reed roof in the world, covering 4500 square meters.
