Swabi District, Administrative district in Mardan Division, Pakistan
Swabi District spans 1,543 square kilometers between the Indus and Kabul Rivers, featuring mountainous terrain in the northeast and fertile plains in the southwest.
The area was part of the ancient Gandhara kingdom and witnessed Alexander the Great's expedition to the Indus Valley in 326 BCE.
The Yusufzai tribe forms the largest population group in Swabi District, alongside Utmankhel, Ghilzai, Tarakai, Jadoon, and Khattak communities.
The district contains four administrative subdivisions: Swabi Tehsil, Topi Tehsil, Lahor Tehsil, and Razar Tehsil, with Swabi city serving as the capital.
The district houses two major educational institutions: the University of Swabi established in 2012 and Women University Swabi founded in 2016.
