Attock District

Attock District extends across 6,857 square kilometers of the Pothohar Plateau, encompassing six administrative subdivisions with diverse geographical features and fertile agricultural lands.

The district, established in 1901 during British rule, transformed from Campbellpur to Attock in 1978 and witnessed the passage of Alexander the Great in 327 BC.

The population of 2.1 million residents speaks multiple languages, with Punjabi at 65%, Pashto at 15%, and Hindko at 14% representing different ethnic communities.

The district contains 1,287 government schools, eight hospitals, and maintains strong transportation connections to major cities like Islamabad and Rawalpindi through road networks.

Located at the intersection of the Kabul and Indus rivers, the district features the Attock Fort, constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1581.
