Tricity Landscape Park, Protected landscape park in Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland.
Tricity Landscape Park is a protected natural area in Pomeranian Voivodeship spread across forests, valleys, streams, and small lakes on the moraine upland of the Kashubian Lake District. The terrain was shaped during the ice age and shows the varied natural features typical of this region.
The area was designated as a protected park in 1979 to conserve the nature of this glacier-shaped landscape. The park boundaries have been adjusted over time to reflect natural changes in the region.
The park contains remains from the early Middle Ages, including fortified settlements and burial grounds, as well as the Kalwaria Wejherowska pilgrimage site from the 17th century. These historical places show how people have lived and worshipped in this landscape across the centuries.
The park entrances are easily reached by public transportation, especially by tram line 10 to PKM Brętowo station near Potokowa Street. Sturdy footwear is recommended due to the varied terrain with forests, valleys, and water bodies.
The area contains ten designated nature reserves with rare plant species and primitive lakes that formed right after the glacier retreated. These waters and rock formations offer a direct view of the landscape as it appeared after the ice age.
