Აკვარიუმი, Former entertainment garden theatre in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The Aquarium Theatre was an entertainment complex in Saint Petersburg with a glass hall, outdoor stage, and multiple performance spaces within a landscaped garden on Kamennoostrovsky Prospect. The facility operated as both an indoor and outdoor venue, offering winter activities such as an artificial ice rink called the Ice Palace.
The complex opened in 1886 as a natural science exhibition space before transforming into a theatre. It operated continuously until closing in 1923.
The venue hosted symphony orchestras, choirs, and opera performances for the local public. It gained recognition for presenting Russia's first film screening during an operetta intermission in 1896.
Visitors found a flexible venue designed for different types of events, both indoors and outdoors. The season often determined which activities were available, with special winter attractions offered during colder months.
The winter season of 1888 introduced an Ice House with interior decorations made entirely of ice, drawing visitors with its architectural boldness. This temporary winter structure became a memorable attraction for guests.
