Minskaya, Metro and railway station complex in Dorogomilovo District, Russia
Minskaya is an underground transit station in the Dorogomilovo District of Moscow, combining a metro stop on the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya Line with a suburban railway stop on the MCD-4 Kiev direction. The two systems are linked by a covered indoor passage that allows passengers to move between them without going outside.
The metro station opened in March 2017 as part of a westward extension of the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya Line. The suburban railway stop followed in April 2022, when the MCD-4 corridor was introduced to modernize existing rail routes around Moscow.
The station takes its name from Minskaya Street, which runs nearby and itself references the Belarusian capital Minsk. Passengers waiting on the platforms notice the clean, bright design that has become common in newer Moscow transit spaces.
The station is equipped with elevators and ramps, making it accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. The metro and the suburban railway use separate ticketing systems, so it helps to check the connection before traveling.
The suburban railway platform is fully covered by a roof running its entire length, keeping travelers dry in any weather. This kind of continuous overhead cover is not common on older suburban stations in the Moscow network.
