The archaeological site presents 550 rock art panels containing thousands of engravings depicting animals, plants, and human activities across multiple locations.

The complex spans from 7000 BC to 1000 BC, serving as a vital stop on ancient trade routes connecting Yemen to Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Mesopotamia.

The site contains inscriptions in multiple ancient scripts including Greek, Arabic, Musnad, Aramaic-Nabatean, Thamudic, and South-Arabian, recording messages from traders and travelers.

Located 200 kilometers north of Najran city, the site features ancient wells that provided water for caravans traveling through the region.

The complex houses 6,400 illustrations, including 1,800 camel depictions and 1,300 human figures, making it one of the largest rock art collections globally.
