Johanneshovs IP, Football and athletics stadium in Johanneshov, Sweden.
Johanneshovs IP was a multipurpose stadium in Stockholm's Johanneshov district that combined a running track with a football pitch on the same grounds. The facility held around 15000 spectators and served both football and track-and-field competitions.
The stadium opened in 1928 and served as the main sports facility in the Johanneshov district until its closure in 1964. It was demolished in 1967 to make way for the new Söderstadion.
Before its demolition in 1967, this venue represented a central point for Stockholm residents to gather and participate in various athletic competitions.
The former location in the Johanneshov area was well served by public transportation and acted as a landmark for sports enthusiasts. Since the ground no longer exists today, visitors can only trace its original position through historical information.
The ground was home to Hammarby IF, one of Stockholm's most significant football clubs, before the team moved to other stadiums. Many older Stockholmers remember matches there as a central part of their childhood and teenage years.
