Carthage Palace, Presidential residence in Carthage, Tunisia
The palace complex contains four sections including the central building, private wing apartments, presidential security building, and administrative services structures.
The property started as a residence of Mustapha Khaznadar before becoming an Allied Forces location in 1943 and later transforming into the presidential palace.
The interior features rooms dedicated to important Tunisian figures and includes a gallery displaying the history of Husainid dynasty rulers from 1705 to 1957.
Three thousand people work at the palace, with two-thirds consisting of national guards and presidential security service personnel ensuring continuous protection.
The palace preserves the historical table where officials signed the Treaty of Bardo in 1881, marking the beginning of French administration in Tunisia.
