Sirkeli Höyük, Archaeological site in Ceyhan, Turkey.
Sirkeli Höyük spans 80 hectares at the intersection of the Ceyhan River and Misis Mountains, making it one of Cilicia's largest settlement mounds.
Excavations initiated by John Garstang in 1936 revealed multiple layers of human habitation from the Chalcolithic period through the Bronze and Iron Ages.
The rock relief at the site displays the image of Hittite King Muwatalli II from 1290-1272 BC, representing early Hittite artistry in the region.
The archaeological site lies 40 kilometers east of Adana, with modern transportation routes including a motorway running along its southern periphery.
Research indicates this location might correspond to Lawazantiya, a significant trade and religious center connected to Hittite Queen Puduhepa.
