Çatalan Bridge, Road bridge in Adana Province, Turkey.
The Çatalan Bridge is a road bridge in Adana Province that spans 1575 meters across the Seyhan Dam Lake. It connects the city of Adana with northern villages and vacation areas on the far side of the water.
The structure was completed in 2002 and held the record as Turkey's longest bridge until 2007, when another surpassed it. The name comes from the Çatalan Dam located upstream along the river.
The bridge name originates from Çatalan Dam located 14 kilometers upstream, following Turkish naming traditions for infrastructure projects.
The bridge has two traffic lanes and is regularly maintained by Turkish highway authorities. Drivers should expect standard road conditions while being able to enjoy views of the surrounding water.
Three construction companies worked together on this project to build the reinforced concrete structure. Such collaboration between multiple firms was uncommon for a bridge of this scale in the region.
