Havza Ataturk House, Historical museum in Havza, Turkey.
The Havza Atatürk House is a three-story museum in a former lodge that displays furniture, photographs, and documents from the early 1900s in rooms arranged as they were in that time. The exhibition documents aspects of the Turkish independence movement through objects and materials from this period.
The building was originally a hotel and served as headquarters during the independence movement from May to June in 1919. This brief period was crucial for coordinating the early phase of the National Struggle.
The house displays regional craftsmanship on the ground level, reflecting the local heritage of the area. Upstairs in the reconstructed living spaces, you can see how people lived and worked in the early 1900s.
Visiting involves exploring three floors with different thematic rooms that take time to walk through properly. It helps to start at the top and work your way down to experience the spaces at a comfortable pace.
The house preserves the exact room where key commands were issued to mobilize the armed forces, with original objects from that time. This space remains unchanged and allows visitors to follow the places where crucial moments took place.
