Kızılay Emek Business Center, High-rise business center in Çankaya, Turkey.
Kızılay Emek Business Center is a 24-story high-rise with a glass curtain wall facade located at Kızılay Square. The lower three floors contain retail spaces while the upper levels hold office areas for various businesses.
Built between 1959 and 1965 in the International Style, construction faced delays due to the 1960 Turkish military coup. This building process made it one of the first major projects in Turkey completed despite political disruptions.
The building shapes the appearance of Kızılay Square, a center of modern Ankara where workers, shoppers, and pedestrians meet daily. The mix of offices and retail spaces makes the location a gathering point for business and everyday activities.
The building is easily accessible and offers shopping options in the lower section along with access to office spaces above. Visitors can use the retail areas during business hours, while the upper floors are mainly reserved for tenants.
The building drew inspiration from New York's Lever House and the United Nations Secretariat Building, bringing international design to Turkey. This inspiration made it an example of adopting modern western architectural trends during the 1960s.
