Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church is an Armenian church in Tepebaşı with a rectangular layout and three interior sections, framed by twin bell towers at the front. The structure includes dedicated spaces for infant baptisms on its northeastern side and now serves as a cultural center.

The church was originally built in 1650 and rebuilt in 1881 by architect Mintes Panoyat following a devastating fire in 1876 that caused extensive damage. This reconstruction kept the site functioning as a religious space through later transformations.

The exterior walls display elaborate earth-based decorative patterns and religious symbols reflecting Armenian craftsmanship traditions. These ornamental details continue to shape how the building appears to visitors and reveal the artistic identity of those who created it.

The building is publicly accessible and hosts various cultural events and activities throughout the year. Visitors should note that programming times may shift seasonally, so checking ahead about current offerings helps with planning a visit.

After 1915 the church became an adult cinema before being restored and converted into a cultural center. This unexpected use shows how the building persisted in the city landscape through changing hands over the course of a century.
