Futai Street Mansion, Historical museum in Taipei, Taiwan
The mansion exhibits wooden balconies, stained glass windows, and decorative doorways that merge Eastern construction methods with European architectural elements from the 1800s.
During the late nineteenth century, foreign merchants established this residence, which later transformed into a museum displaying artifacts from Taiwan's colonial period.
The collections inside the mansion present traditional clothing, furniture, and documents that showcase the daily routines of wealthy families in nineteenth-century Taiwan.
Visitors can explore the mansion from Monday through Saturday between 10:00 and 18:00, with guided tours available in multiple languages upon request.
The building contains original wooden carvings and detailed wall patterns that demonstrate the precise craftsmanship of both Taiwanese and European artisans.
