Sanyi Township

Sanyi is a township in Miaoli County in west-central Taiwan that spans rolling terrain with forest and agricultural land. The area is home to the Wood Sculpture Museum, numerous workshops, and storage facilities that reflect the craftsmanship the area is known for.

The area developed as a woodworking center because of its forest resources and access to timber for craft production. This industry grew over generations and continues to shape the township's economy and identity.

The restored Shengxing railway line now offers railbike rides past the red brick remains of Longteng Bridge, which partially collapsed in 1935. This unusual blend of industrial history and modern recreation attracts visitors who want to experience the past while pedaling through the landscape.
