The Old Taipei City Hall is a government building in central Taipei that combines European and East Asian architectural styles in a balanced way. Its symmetrical facade, wide staircases, and multi-story structure convey a sense of order and official authority from the colonial period.

The building was constructed in 1920 during Japanese rule and served for decades as the center of local administration. After a new city hall was built, it lost its governing role but was preserved as a historical landmark.

The building is open to visitors during regular business hours when exhibits and guided tours are available. Access is straightforward from ground level and interior spaces are well marked, so visitors can explore independently.

Inside the building, original wooden floors and ceiling decorations from its construction period are still preserved and can be discovered upon closer inspection. The surrounding gardens also feature native plant species that give the grounds a local character.
