United Daily News Office Building

The United Daily News Office Building is a modern skyscraper in Xinyi with 34 floors above ground and 5 basement levels that rises 145.6 meters into the sky. The lower sections house office spaces while the upper floors contain residential units.

Construction of this media headquarters began in 2015 and was completed in 2018, reflecting the development of Xinyi as a modern business district. The building was created during a period of rapid growth in this part of Taipei.

The lobby displays sculptures of Chinese calligraphy symbols and serves as a public gallery where visitors can see contemporary art installations on display.

The building is easy to locate and sits in a central area with good public transport connections and pedestrian access. Visitors can freely access the public art gallery in the lobby and appreciate the architecture of the entrance space.

The aluminum and glass facade was inspired by the Daily News Building in New York, showing a connection between American and Asian architectural styles. This subtle reference is not obvious at first glance but becomes clear when examining the material details.
