Kinburn, fort ottoman en Ukraine
Kinburn was a fortification located at the southern tip of the Kinburn Peninsula near Ochakiv on the Black Sea coast. The structure featured earthen ramparts and bastions designed to protect this strategic harbor area, though it now stands in ruins.
The fortress was established in the 18th century and served as a key defensive position controlling coastal waters and maritime traffic in the region. It sustained damage during several conflicts and was eventually abandoned, leaving behind ruins that mark its former strategic importance.
The site is located at the tip of the Kinburn Peninsula, accessible mainly by land routes and set in an open landscape by the sea. Visitors should expect uneven terrain and minimal facilities on-site, so proper preparation is advisable.
