Fought on June 17, 1775, this battle marked a significant early victory for the British but also showcased the strong resistance from the colonial forces.
Despite its name, most of the fighting occured on Breed's Hill, not Bunker Hill.
Today, the site is part of Boston National Historical Park managed by the National Park Service.
