Racer, Wooden roller coaster in Kennywood, West Mifflin, United States

The Racer is a wooden roller coaster at Kennywood Park with two parallel tracks that run side by side. The structure allows two trains to operate simultaneously, letting riders compare their speed and experience.

This wooden coaster was designed by engineer John A. Miller in 1927 and replaced an earlier ride from 1910 at the same location. It has defined Kennywood Park ever since and remains part of the park's long history.

The Racer is a defining landmark of Kennywood Park and shows how American amusement parks were built in the early 20th century. Its two parallel tracks shape the park's landscape and invite visitors to compete between trains.

The Racer has limited capacity per ride, so wait times can be long during busy periods. Best to visit early in the morning or later in the day when the park is less crowded.

What makes the Racer special is its Möbius loop design, where trains switch tracks during their run. This means each ride feels different from the last, giving it a surprising twist.
