Citadel Center

Citadel Center is a 39-story skyscraper located on South Dearborn Street in Chicago's Loop district. Its postmodern design features an intricately layered glass facade and detailed exterior elements that define its appearance.

This skyscraper was completed in 2003 on the site of the former Fair Store, a historic retail building. The replacement was designed by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, marking a transition in this downtown location.

The lobby displays a cast of the Winged Victory of Samothrace and incorporates red Padauk wood throughout its interior spaces. These artistic choices create a distinctive welcome for those entering the building.

The building is easily accessible near CTA Red Line and Blue Line stations, making it simple to reach by public transit and airport connections. On-site parking is available for those arriving by car.

This building pioneered Chicago's first raised-floor pressurized system, which delivers climate control through individual floor diffusers. The technology allows each office space to maintain its own temperature independently.
