New York City College of Technology, Technical college in Downtown Brooklyn, US

New York City College of Technology is a public technical school in Brooklyn spanning seven buildings with around 58 degree programs. The programs focus on engineering, architecture, nursing, and hospitality, with classrooms and labs spread across the Downtown campus.

The school was founded in 1946 to prepare World War II veterans for industrial careers after the war. This starting point as a training program gradually expanded into the established college with broader programs it is today.

The college brings together students from many different backgrounds and countries into shared classroom spaces. You can see this diversity reflected in the campus activities, student organizations, and community events throughout the year.

The campus sits in Downtown Brooklyn and connects to multiple subway lines at Jay Street MetroTech station for easy transit access. Bus routes also serve the location, giving visitors several ways to arrive.

The Ursula C. Schwerin Library operates its own open-access publishing system that makes research materials freely available online. This means students and researchers can reach academic content without hitting paywalls.
