Palladium Times Square, Multi-purpose hall in Times Square, United States
Palladium Times Square is a multi-purpose hall in Manhattan, New York, located directly in the Times Square area and hosting different types of events. The interior includes a large standing room orchestra section, two private mezzanine levels, and three bars distributed along a wrap-around lounge space.
The building opened in 1974 as Loews Astor Plaza Theatre and originally served as a movie theater. In 2005, AEG renovated the space with an investment of 21 million dollars to convert it into a live event venue.
The hall serves as a venue for concerts, comedy performances, and fashion shows, while its direct broadcast link to MTV Studios runs through the building's infrastructure. From 2005 to 2019, it also hosted the annual Heisman Trophy ceremony, where the top college football players received their awards.
The hall accommodates up to 2,150 guests and includes several dressing rooms as well as a green room that fits 30 people. The lounge areas and bars are spread across different levels, allowing visitors to move freely during events.
An 85-foot (26 meters) LED screen covers the exterior facade and can broadcast content directly from the MTV Studios. This technical connection allows live shows to appear simultaneously throughout the building and on the street-facing display.
