Oscar Hammerstein I created the Paradise Roof Garden in 1899 atop the Victoria Theatre as a new entertainment destination. The venue quickly became a popular gathering place for shows and events in New York City.

The venue has eight exits and two elevators making entry and exit straightforward for guests. The multi-level layout takes some time to navigate but provides flexibility for hosting different types of gatherings.
A retractable roof system installed in 1902 allowed the venue to adjust its coverage based on weather conditions. This technical innovation was ahead of its time and gave guests flexibility for outdoor or covered experiences.
