1501 Broadway

1501 Broadway is a 33-floor office skyscraper with a limestone base and stepped setbacks across its facade. A four-faced clock with an illuminated globe crowns the top and commands attention above the Times Square street level.

The structure was built between 1925 and 1927 as headquarters for Paramount Pictures, a major film studio of the silent film era. Its completion marked the studio's commitment to establishing a strong presence in New York.

The building served as a gathering place for the film world, where actors and industry professionals regularly met and conducted business. This role made it a hub of early entertainment culture in the city.

The building houses office spaces and is easy to spot from the street thanks to its distinctive clock tower. Visitors can appreciate the architecture and iconic timepiece from outside, as the main entrance serves business tenants.

Inside the building stood a hall displaying stones from different countries alongside a bust of Thomas Edison, linking cinema pioneers with international recognition. This collection was an unusual blend of technology and global acknowledgment rarely seen in office buildings.
