Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, Native plant preserve in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve is a 134-acre botanical garden containing over 700 native Pennsylvania plant species spread across meadows, woodlands, ponds, and along Pidcock Creek. The grounds feature varied terrain and plant communities throughout the property.
The preserve was established in 1934 as a dedicated space for protecting and studying native plants from Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley region. Its creation reflected growing conservation efforts during the early 20th century.
The Native Plant Nursery grows more than 200 local species that visitors can purchase and plant in their own gardens. This allows residents to help restore the natural plant life of their region at home.
About 4.5 miles of trails wind through the grounds and are open Wednesday through Monday for exploration. Admission tickets are available for purchase online or at the entrance.
The property maintains North America's only museum-accredited collection of wildflowers and native plants. This collection is carefully cultivated year-round in specialized greenhouses on site.
