Clark Tower is a modern office skyscraper in East Memphis with 34 floors and a glass and concrete exterior. The building contains office space and ground-floor retail areas.
Construction began in 1971 when William B. Clark Sr. initiated the project to replace 27 residential houses in the Harvey Road area. The building reshaped the Memphis skyline during that decade.
The building established itself as the largest office structure in the Mississippi Valley region between St. Louis and New Orleans upon completion.
The building is located at 5100 Poplar Avenue and features a seven-story parking garage for visitors. Access is straightforward since it sits in an established business district.
The 33rd floor now houses a catering service after the original Tower Restaurant and Summit Club closed in 2010. This change reflects how the building has adapted its uses over time.
