Forest Lake Camp, Summer camp in Southern Adirondack Mountains, United States

Forest Lake Camp is a summer camp in the southern Adirondack Mountains with separate facilities for boys and girls aged 8 to 16 years old. The property spans 825 acres with a private 22-acre lake, offering 19 cabins and facilities for tennis, basketball, climbing, and water activities.

Harold T. Confer established the camp in 1926 as a boys-only facility while purchasing over 200 acres around Forest Lake. The camp later expanded to accommodate both boys and girls, evolving into a coeducational operation.

Sunday evening campfire gatherings bring campers together to sing, tell stories, and share their weekly experiences in a communal setting. These traditions strengthen connections between participants and shape the sense of community within the camp.

The camp sits in a mountain setting with easy access to the lake for swimming and water sports. Visitors should prepare for variable weather and wear appropriate footwear for the uneven forest trails throughout the property.

The property features 2.4 kilometers of private shoreline and sits along a former stagecoach route that once connected Chestertown to Saratoga Springs. This historic passage reflects the region's transportation history and connects the site to a broader network of 19th-century travel routes.
