State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan, Natural history museum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
The State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan contains four hundred thousand specimens, including three hundred thousand insects and eleven thousand herbarium sheets.
The museum began its journey on July 12, 1876, when Russian scientists established it as the Tashkent Museum before evolving through several name changes.
The museum conducts regular educational programs for schools, universities, and retirement homes, spreading knowledge about Uzbekistan's natural environment.
Visitors can access the museum via Chorsu metro station and explore its exhibits from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 17:00, with closure on Mondays.
The collection includes remains of mammoths, animal mutations, embryos, and specimens of endangered species arranged in detailed landscape displays.
