Estadio Olímpico

Estadio Olímpico is a university stadium in the Los Chaguaramos neighborhood, designed with a distinctive oval structure. The venue contains separate seating sections and a covered grandstand arrangement that accommodates approximately 24900 spectators.

The stadium opened in 1951 and was designed by Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva as part of a broader university campus development plan that started in 1944. This timing made it one of the era's important sports facilities in South America.

The entrance features a sculpture by Francisco Narváez, with murals decorating the walkways and creating visual interest. These artworks give the space a cultural dimension that connects visitors to local artistic expression.

The roof features a thin slab supported by structural ribs that creates the impression of floating above the stadium. This engineering solution was innovative for its time and remains visually striking.
