Mỏ Cày Nam

Mỏ Cày Nam is a rural district characterized by flat terrain crisscrossed by canals and waterways that connect the landscape. The area sits just above sea level and consists of coconut plantations mixed with fish ponds and family farms.

The district was created in 2009 when the original Mỏ Cày district was split into two separate administrative units. This division reshaped the governance structure of the region and established new local boundaries.

Daily life revolves around the waterways, where people travel by boat and fish from their homes as part of regular routines. Coconut palms frame every view and connect the community to its agricultural identity.

Getting there is easiest by regional bus from Bến Tre city, with regular connections throughout the day. Once there, homestays and small guesthouses offer lodging and opportunities to experience local food and daily rhythms firsthand.

The area is known for making specialized coconut candies that blend fresh coconut milk with malt sugar through a time-honored craft. This traditional skill has been passed down through families and remains an important local product.
