Siraha District, Administrative district in Madhesh Province, Nepal
The district stretches across 1,188 square kilometers in southern Nepal, between Udayapur district in the north and Bihar state of India in the south.
The district evolved from being part of the Saptadi region when Nepal had 34 districts to becoming one of the current 77 administrative divisions.
The population includes Yadavs, Kushwaha, Tharus, and Muslims, with Maithili serving as the primary language for 85 percent of the residents.
Daily flights operate from Rajbiraj Airport to Kathmandu, while the Mahendra Highway provides road connections to major towns within the district.
The district contains Lahan town, which houses the Sagarmatha Chaudhary Eye Hospital, serving patients from across the region.
