Tunkinsky District

Tunkinsky District is a municipal region in western Buryatia with mountains, valleys, and forest areas spread across its terrain. Kyren serves as the main administrative center from which local services operate.

This region was once part of the Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic before undergoing administrative reorganization in the early 1990s. The restructuring established its current form within the Buryatia Republic.
