International Passenger Bus Terminal of Ashgabat

The International Passenger Bus Terminal is a large transportation hub in Ashgabat with hundreds of bus platforms serving routes across Turkmenistan and into neighboring regions. Planning for the terminal began in 2012 when city authorities recognized the need for a centralized hub to manage growing regional transportation demands. Its opening marked an important shift toward organized intercity bus travel across the nation.

The main hall features modern art installations and decorative elements reflecting contemporary Turkmen design, while travelers can observe how locals navigate the space with practiced routines during peak travel times.

Travelers can find ticket offices, currency exchange, luggage storage, internet cafe, restaurants, and shops throughout the terminal building. The spacious layout with multiple entry points helps visitors easily locate the services they need.

The complex includes its own fire station and a specialized bus washing facility that keeps the fleet maintained. A Silk Road hotel with 50 rooms operates on the grounds, offering accommodation for passengers with lengthy layovers.
