雲龍橋, Suspension bridge in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan.
Yunlong Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning 180 meters across a valley with protective mesh barriers along both sides. The structure creates a crossing high above the forest floor, offering views down into the surrounding terrain.
The bridge was completed in 1985 as part of infrastructure development in the Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area. It opened access to remote sections of the forest that were previously difficult to reach.
The structure serves as a vital connection point where hikers pass between different sections of the forest recreation area. Over time it has become a place where visitors experience the scale and drama of the mountain landscape.
The best time to cross is early morning or during shoulder seasons when fewer visitors are present. The crossing requires reasonable fitness, and sturdy footwear plus water are essential to carry.
The crossing is not completely horizontal but gradually rises as you walk from one end to the other. This gentle slope makes the walk less tiring than expected, even though the height feels significant.
