Beaver Land Mine Ride, Steel roller coaster in Aurora, Ohio
Beaver Land Mine Ride was a steel roller coaster at Geauga Lake amusement park in Aurora, Ohio. The track featured gentle turns and moderate drops, making it one of the more accessible rides at the park rather than a thrill-focused attraction.
The coaster opened in 2000 under the name Road Runner Express as part of the Six Flags park. Cedar Fair took over the property in 2004, renamed the ride, and closed it in 2007.
The ride was built with families in mind, offering a gentle experience that younger children could enjoy alongside adults. This type of coaster was a staple of American amusement parks during that era.
Geauga Lake no longer exists as an amusement park, so the Aurora site is not open to visitors. The ride itself can still be experienced at a park in France, where it was relocated and continues to operate.
After closing, the entire structure was taken apart and shipped to France, where it still runs today. It is rare for a ride to find a second life on a different continent after its original park has closed.
