Estación Maripérez, Cable car station in Maripérez district, Caracas, Venezuela.
Estación Maripérez is the base station of the modern cable car in Caracas that carries passengers up to the Ávila mountain summit. The facility features large escalators, modern queue management systems, and a spacious departure area that can accommodate many visitors at once.
The station was built during the 1950s under Marcos Pérez Jiménez's government and later underwent major reconstruction in 2000. It went through a long closure in the late decades of the 20th century before returning to operation.
The station displays local artwork and installations created by neighborhood artists that reflect the community's identity. Visitors notice signage and decorations during boarding that reference the surrounding area and its character.
The station sits on Maripérez Main Avenue near Boyacá Avenue and is easy to reach by local transit. It helps to arrive before rush hours or later in the afternoon when fewer people are waiting to board.
The station originally carried the district name but was renamed in 2007 and has been known by a different name since then. This change happened as part of a broader overhaul of the system that included five original stations at that time.
