La Florida

La Florida is a residential neighborhood in the central part of Caracas' Metropolitan District, bordered by Alta Florida, Country Club, Altamira, Sabana Grande, and San Bernardino. The area sits between Cota Mil and Avenida Libertador, with Avenida Andrés Bello and Avenida Las Palmas running through it.

The area began as a coffee plantation in Sabana Grande until 1929, when entrepreneur Juan Bernardo Arismendi transformed it into a residential development. This shift from agricultural land to planned housing marked a turning point in the area's character and layout.

The neighborhood functions as a residential community where families gather in parks and green areas. The tree-lined streets shape how residents move through and experience their daily surroundings together.

The neighborhood is well served by multiple transportation routes and sits conveniently between major street connections for easy navigation. Walking through the area is straightforward thanks to its organized street layout and accessible pathways.

The neighborhood stands out for having one of the highest ratios of green space per resident in the city. This abundance of trees and parks gives the area a distinct character compared to more densely built sections elsewhere.
