La Florida occupies a central position in the Metropolitan District of Caracas, bordered by Alta Florida, Country Club, Altamira, Sabana Grande, and San Bernardino.
The area originated as a coffee plantation in Sabana Grande until 1929, when entrepreneur Juan Bernardo Arismendi transformed it into a residential development with tree-lined streets.
