Statue of Bahram Gur, Bronze monument in Azneft Square, Azerbaijan.
The statue depicts Bahram Gur defeating a serpent dragon with a sword, reaching a height of 4.6 meters at the center of Azneft Square.
Three university students created this monument in 1959: Aslan Rustamov, Albert Mustafayev, and Gorkhmaz Sujaddinov, following an urban improvement competition in Baku.
The statue represents a character from the poem Seven Beauties by Nizami Ganjavi, depicting Bahram Gur, the Sassanid Shahinshah of Iran.
Located near the Baku funicular station, the monument serves as both a sculpture and a fountain, offering visitors multiple angles for observation.
The physical likeness of Bahram Gur in the statue was modeled after Albert Mustafayev, one of its three creators.
