Mymensingh Museum, Regional heritage museum in Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
The Mymensingh Museum is housed in a former residence of a local landlord on Amrita Babu Road and displays historical objects from the region. The collection includes stone sculptures, old manuscripts, metalworks, and paintings that document the cultural heritage of the area.
The museum was founded in 1969 by a regional administrator and started with approximately 200 objects from the collections of local landlord palaces. Since 1989, the Department of Archaeology has managed the collection, preserving and presenting the items to the public.
The collection shows stone sculptures, handwritten manuscripts, and metalworks that reflect local life across different periods. Visitors encounter objects from everyday life long ago, revealing how people in this region once lived and worked.
The building is relatively small, so it helps to spend time looking carefully at each exhibit to fully appreciate the collection. The entrance is located on Amrita Babu Road, which is centrally situated in the city and accessible on foot.
Among the exhibits stands a preserved peacock specimen originally from the city's Medical College. The display also includes antique clocks and stone flower vases from different periods.
