Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park

The park extends across 15,696 hectares with four valleys surrounding Monte Perdido, featuring deep canyons, waterfalls, and limestone formations at elevations from 700 to 3,348 meters.

Established in 1918 as Spain's second national park, this protected area received UNESCO World Heritage recognition in 1997 for its natural and geological significance.

The mountain pastures within the park contain traditional shepherding structures that demonstrate centuries of agricultural practices in the Spanish Pyrenees.

Access to Ordesa Valley requires using the shuttle bus service from Torla during peak season, while entry to other valleys remains unrestricted throughout the year.

Monte Perdido stands as Europe's highest limestone massif, creating a natural border between Spain and France with its north face dropping 1,700 meters into Gavarnie.
