Vonkaputous, Water roller coaster in Linnanmäki, Finland
The Vonkaputous roller coaster combined elements of water rides with steel track sections, featuring a 24-meter vertical drop and 330-meter track length.
Operating from 2001 to 2017, this Premier Rides creation represented an investment of 22 million Finnish marks, establishing new standards for amusement attractions in Finland.
The name Vonkaputous reflected Finnish linguistic traditions, while the ride design incorporated elements of Nordic engineering and entertainment preferences.
The roller coaster accommodated groups of ten riders per boat, with five rows of seating, operating primarily during Finland's warmer months from May through October.
As one of only two Premier Rides Liquid Coasters ever constructed worldwide, Vonkaputous combined traditional roller coaster technology with water-based propulsion systems.
