Ukko, Steel roller coaster in Linnanmäki, Finland
Ukko is a steel roller coaster in Helsinki's Linnanmäki amusement park featuring a vertical chain lift and two inversions. The ride accelerates to high speed and winds through a 150-meter track with sharp turns and loops.
The ride was built by German manufacturer Maurer Rides and opened to the public in 2011. It became a major addition to Linnanmäki park and attracted many thrill-seekers.
The name Ukko comes from Finnish mythology, referring to the thunder god, which reflects the wild and powerful nature of this ride. Visitors feel this mythological connection when experiencing the intense forces of the attraction.
The ride accepts guests between 140 and 200 centimeters tall and completes each cycle in about one minute. Check height requirements before queuing to avoid disappointment.
The ride generates forces up to 5G during the experience, making it more intense than most visitors expect. These extreme acceleration forces create a physically demanding ride unlike typical coasters.
