Panoraama, Observation tower at Linnanmäki amusement park, Finland
Panoraama is an observation tower within the Linnanmäki amusement park that uses a rotating cabin to lift visitors high into the air. From this vantage point, you can see far across Helsinki's rooftops and streets.
A Swiss company built this rotating tower in 1987 using a gyro system rather than a traditional fixed structure. It was designed as a modern addition to the amusement park at that time.
The name changed from Panorama to Panoraama to maintain Finnish language authenticity in the amusement park's naming conventions.
Each ride lasts about 3 to 4 minutes and carries roughly 30 passengers at a time. Children need to reach a minimum height of around 1 meter to be able to ride.
The cabin rotates completely as you ride, constantly shifting your view of the city throughout your journey. This continuous motion creates an experience where the perspective is always changing.
