House of Doctor Gagnon, House museum in central Grenoble, France.

The House of Doctor Gagnon consists of two connected buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries located at the intersection of Place Grenette and Grande Rue in Grenoble. The rooms display original furnishings including period furniture, paintings, and documents spanning several centuries.

The buildings were originally constructed as aristocratic residences for prominent Grenoble families. Doctor Gagnon acquired the property during the French Revolution and established his family home there, where he raised his grandson beginning in 1790.

The house is named after Doctor Henri Gagnon, who purchased it during the French Revolution and made it his family home. Visitors can see furnishings and personal objects arranged as they were when residents lived in the rooms.

Plan your visit for the afternoon when natural light fills the rooms best and guided tours are readily available. It is worth exploring the terrace area, which offers open views toward the Jardin de Ville and the surrounding landscape.

The Italian-style salon stands out distinctly from the French rooms and reflects influences from another culture that shaped the family's taste. The pergola on the terrace created a private retreat space with views that family members used in their daily lives.
