Tête de Paccaly, Mountain peak in Haute-Savoie, France.
Tête de Paccaly is a mountain peak in the Aravis range standing at about 2467 meters high. The summit features steep rock faces made of sedimentary stone that create dramatic slopes on multiple sides.
The summit has served as a reference point for local shepherds navigating the alpine pastures for many generations. As alpine activities developed in the region, the peak became part of established hiking and mountaineering routes.
Local residents maintain traditional agricultural practices around the mountain's base, particularly in the pastoral areas near Les Confins.
The hike starts from the Les Confins parking area and follows marked paths toward La Bottière and Chalet de Paccaly. The trail is most enjoyable during dry weather since the rocky sections can be slippery when wet.
The northwest face drops vertically, creating specific conditions for winter sports with slopes around 40 degrees. This dramatic wall makes the area particularly interesting for certain mountain activities due to its unusual shape.
