Guangxiao Temple, Buddhist temple in Guangzhou, China

The Guangxiao Temple spans several buildings across a large complex, with halls containing wooden sculptures, ceremonial objects, and traditional Chinese architectural elements.

The site originated as the residence of the Nanyue King in the 2nd century BCE before becoming a temple during the Eastern Han Dynasty in 231 CE.

The temple functions as the headquarters of the Buddhist Association of Guangdong Province and maintains a collection of Tang Dynasty wooden arhats discovered in 1950.

The temple stands at the northern end of Guangxiao Road in Yuexiu District, accessible through metro line 1 at Ximenkou Station or multiple bus routes.

The temple houses an Eastern Iron Pagoda from 967 CE, reaching 7.69 meters in height with seven tiers of cast iron construction.
